Why Gramothan

354 million Indians live below poverty line, in some areas worse than in Africa (UNDP, 2010; World Bank, 2005). One out of every three malnourished child in the world is an Indian (UNICEF, 2012) and India has high rates of women suffering from anemia (WHO, 2008). 70% of the population lives in rural India where development is sorely lagging. Gramothan is a response to this crisis.

Community Programs

Gramothan offers several other seva programs like computer training, e-diagnostics, cow and animal husbandry, support to village microenterprises, science lab on wheels, Govt. entitlement education, village goverance and leadership training, financial services linkage

Organic Agriculture

Tranining to convert chemical farms to organic, maintain and improve soil health via multiple farming and other techniques while learning how to make organic fertilizers and bio-pest-repellents. Organic farming is low-zero cost farming and improves profit of the farmers.

Multi-Skill Training

Training to develop various semiskilled and skilled vocational skills and entrepreneurship like repairs, carpentry, food processing, dressmaking, brick and tilemaking, which will provice livelihood opportunities and close the skill gap in india.
